glimmer on little star
that sits within the heavens so dark
sparkle little flame from some distant world
let these eyes see your true colors
through pictures of your gaseous states
changing, imploding, exploding, yet still ornate
smiling back from the night
glimmer on little star
show us your shining light
so fuzzy at times, yet brilliantly bright
your name is often unknown
you are a part of a dot to dot puzzle in the sky
you are born in an instant and after an eternity you die
becoming part of the whole, your rebirth in a soul
mapping the heavens and connecting
drawing many a curious face
to another time and place
a symbol for sure – of God’s wonderful grace
